A graveside service for Michael Lee Hughes, 45, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28  at the Horseshoe Cemetery near Glendo with Tyler Battershell officiating.  A luncheon will be held at the Glendo Community Church after the graveside service.
Michael Hughes passed away Thursday, Aug. 22 at his home in Wheatland surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born Friday, Jan. 25, 1974 in Casper, the son of Harvey and Bonnie (Robinson) Hughes.
Michael was reared and educated in Douglas and Glendo. He graduated from Glendo High School. After graduation he went to trade school at WyoTech. He married Julie Eggers and they later divorced.  
Michael went to California and went to the police academy. After graduating peace officer school, he was hired at Bakersfield Sheriff’s Department.  He later moved back to Wheatland and worked for EE Ranches for many years. Some of his hobbies included golf, flying RC airplanes, fishing, Green Bay Packers football, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.  Michael had a great since of humor and through his cancer treatments he kept that humor all the way through.
Michael is survived by his father, Harvey (Lois) Hughes of Glendo; mother, Bonnie Roska of Wheatland; brother, Chris (Veronica) Hughes of Arizona; sister, Lena Mohn of Wheatland; nieces and nephews, Bonn Boyd, Adam Boyd, Bailey Boyd, Autumn Boyd, Christian Mohn, Jade Fluharty, Addison Wright, Bradley Wright, and Garrett Hughes.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Adam Hughes; and sister, Wendy Fluharty on Oct. 13, 2011.
A memorial to Marge Cares Foundation, P.O. Box 98, Glendo, WY 82213-0098 would be appreciated by the family.
