Thailand seems so long ago and we’ve only been in the new country for a week! It always surprises me how quickly we adapt to new places and how fast it starts to feel like home. It really is true what they say, “Home is where the heart is.” and right now my heart is with B Squad!

Some important things to know about Malaysia.
Malaysia IS in Asia, but its a first world country and very Westernized.
Malaysia is very diverse and known as a ‘melting pot’ with the three top cultures being Chinese, Malay, and Indian.
Along with the variety of cultures comes a variety of religions—Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Christian.

Malaysia cares mostly about the Islamic religion , so much, that if you are born into or convert to Islam, there is no going back. Any other religion is allowed to jump around with what beliefs they practice, but once Islam, always Islam. If a person is Muslim, they are monitored by the government and if they leave they put their family and themselves at risk.
This blog will be short and sweet but I just wanted to update ya’ll on what ministry in Malaysia will look like for the month. I enjoy lists, so here is a list for you with a rundown of the basic opportunities we have.
Cooking for and interacting with people at a homeless shelter / soup kitchen.
Volunteering at a thrift store that benefits the homeless shelter.
Prayer walks for a new ministry site on the mainland.
Teaching 4-6 year old refugee children school things.
Teaching life skills to victims of human trafficking.
Intercession and worship with our hosts’ church.
Prayer and worship nights with an International House Of Prayer.
Malaysia is beautiful and a great place to end our time in Asia. Please pray that awesome things will happen during the next two, short weeks, before we move on to a debrief, and then a new culture in Central America!     Thanks for reading!
