WHEATLAND – On May 12, WY Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Ombudsman, Kathy Wright, presented a Patriot Award to Robin May at the Platte County Memorial Hospital. Robin May is the IT Customer Relations Senior Manager at the Hospital, which is operated by Banner Health in Wheatland. Sergeant First Class Alan Snook from the 213th Regional Training Institute of the Wyoming Army National Guard nominated May for the award stating she was tolerant and supportive of his (Snook’s) military service requirements. Additionally, May has created an environment where employees and their families are the priority and she encourages the furtherance of their military careers. Snook added that May is understanding when given short notice to perform military duties. WY ESGR would like to thank Robin May and Platte County Memorial Hospital for their continued support to our Nation’s military.
In addition Shelby Nelson, CEO Banner Health Wyoming South signed a Statement of Support (SOS). The SOS acknowledges the importance role of National Guard and Reserve service members in defense of the Nation and commits to being a supportive employer during training and deployment requirements.
Service Member Patriot Award
The first in ESGR’s series of awards is the Patriot Award. An employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve, or the spouse of a Guard or Reserve member, may nominate individual supervisors and bosses for support provided directly to the nominating Service member and his or her family. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
