Lois Troupe

Posted

It is with very great sadness to have to say a final goodbye to Lois Troupe.
On Wednesday, Nov. 7, Guernsey native, Lois Troupe (Starmer), passed away in Wheatland at the age of 82 years young.
The daughter of Virginia and Ed Troupe, Lois was born and raised in Guernsey, attended grade school and high school in Guernsey, graduating in 1954. She married Guernsey native, Danny Starmer and they moved to San Diego, Calif. after graduation for several years.
Lois pursued a career as an insurance agent and worked at several large insurance agencies in San Diego, Calif.
She was dearly loved by her family and she had many friends from San Diego, Guernsey and Wheatland. Anyone who knew Lois, would most likely remember her as “one of kind” as she truly was that. She had a love for all animals, especially dogs and horses, and throughout her life, she always had either a horse, a dog, or both.
We all will remember Lois as an avid football fan who was tuned in every NFL season. She was a #1 fan of the her beloved silver and black, better known as the Oakland Raiders. Us Bronco fans gave her a lot of grief every football season for many years, and she loved every minute of it.
She will be truly missed by so many friends and family, including all the wonderful people at the Platte County Legacy Home, whom so many she got to know, care for and consider as part of her family.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Lori Starmer-Groetken (Curtis), niece, Roxie (Harris) Lawrence, niece Debi (Hull) Troupe, her favorite nephew and friend, Ed Troupe, and nephew Bill Troupe. We all loved her, miss her and will remember her fondly. Rest in Peace.
