WHEATLAND – The Wheatland Lobos 15u team finished their conference season with a couple tough losses against Torrington, Saturday, taking the 13-10 loss for final game. They closed out the season traveling to Scottsbluff Tuesday evening.
The Lobos 17u went 3-3 for final six games of their season. Last Wednesday, the team travelled to Gillette, taking a 14-7 loss in the first game, then secured a 12-6 win in second game with four runs in the fourth inning. The Lobos then travelled to Casper Friday, recording a 10-9 loss in the first game and clinched a 10-5 win in the second game as Anderson only allowed five runs in five innings and Borton allowed zero runs in final two innings.Saturday, after a tough loss in the first game against Douglas, the full 17u squad arrived and won 11-10 for the team’s final season game.
The Lobos varsity swept the Cheyenne Hawks at home last week, winning 14-4 and 8-7. Hernandez and Pollock led the team in hits as Pollock tripled and Hernandez hit both a double and triple in first game. The 19u attended the Douglas Wood Bat Tournament this past weekend posting a 1-3 record as they faced Cheyenne Hawks, Riverton Raiders, Powell Pioneers and Sturgis Scooper varsity.
The Lobos has three doubleheader conference home games remaining this season. Wednesday, they will host Torrington at 5 and 7 p.m. July 20, they will host Gillette at 1 and 3 p.m., and will host Douglas, July 25 at 5 and 7 p.m.
