WHEATLAND — The Wheatland Lobos had an impressive weekend as they competed in different tournaments.
The 17 under team picked up several wins in Cheyenne. Their first game on Friday was against the Cheyenne Indians where they finished 13-5. The Lobos scored five runs over the course of the first three innings, but the Indians came back and tied with all five of their runs in the third inning. That didn’t discourage the Lobos, as they scored another eight runs in the following two innings. The winning pitcher was Mitchell Pollock.
Later on Friday, the Lobos defeated Scottsbluff 12-10. Winning pitchers were Trevor Vaughn, Joel Anderson and Ryan Pollock.

On Saturday, the Lobos defeated Cheyenne Prep 12-4. Winning pitchers were Joel Anderson and Kaleb Peterson.
They also faced Impact Maroon later on Saturday, but results were not available by press time.
Finally, on Sunday, the Lobos faced their final opponent, Impact Black from Colorado, and they brought home another win, scoring 21-5. The winning pitcher of this game was Jared Leathers.
Meanwhile, Scottsbluff was hosting a Pool Play tournament over the same weekend, where the Lobos’ 15 under team competed.
Their first game was against the Chadron Nebraska Cards, and won 11-3. The Lobos lost their next game against the Casper Badgers. They didn’t let the loss discourage them, as they defeated the Platte Valley Lightning 13-3. In Bracket Play, the Lobos fell to the Platte Valley Lightning 0-10.
The 17 under team played against the Laramie Deputies on Tuesday, but results were not available by press time. Their next game will be at home against Laramie again on June 27.
The 15 under team will face Laramie at home at 5 p.m., June 21. Their following game will also be a home against Douglas at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 23.
