I hear people say a lot and I preach it a lot to keep praising the Lord or blessing the Lord. The word bless means to kneel, praise, give thanks. It is a humble position. This is easy when all is going well and things seem right and easy. But it’s a different thing when it looks like everything in our life is going in the wrong direction, then not so easy!
We sing praises, blessing the Lord because we understand He knows what is happening in our life, and is holding our hand guiding us through the storms that arise in our life. When in the valley we forget He is the same God as on the mountain top! I do not know what people do without Jesus Christ in their life. They have no real truth, no real hope, and no real pleasant future ahead of them.
We as children of God are just passing through this life with a true purpose. We are to proclaim the name of Jesus to the world around us. It does not matter if we’re having a dark day or a bright day, if pain or pleasure, we know whom we believe, and His name is Jesus Christ! We trust and obey because He has our hand and will lead us through it all. He will never leave us or forsake us. He is our fortress and our strength. He is Our Lord. He is our only living HOPE.
I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
