Leslie Parker Dickerson, 78, passed peacefully next to her husband Ray on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the Platte County Memo-rial Hospital in Wheatland. Leslie had a love for dogs, especially the Golden Retrievers she bred, raised, and trained for most of her life. Leslie was born in Mount Vernon, New York but lived in Pelham, New York for her entire child-hood. Although it made her extremely ill and they suspected she would not walk, she survived Polio. That was one of many hurdles she conquered in her life. She graduated from Emma Willard School and then went on to Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She married Skip Dickerson in 1961, had two children, and moved around the northeast before settling in Upper Bucks County, Pennsyl-vania. Shortly after she and Skip divorced, she moved to Wellington, Colorado because she loved the mountains and the western culture. She often held field training events at her property. She was able to have some horses. After Wellington got too populated, she searched for a home in Wyoming and was lucky to find her Goodrich Road house in Wheatland. It was the perfect place to have her dogs, some horses, and had a great view of the mountains. She was involved in PAWS. Just over ten years ago she was introduced to Ray. That was a life-changing moment for both. Ray moved to Wheatland and they went on many great adventures, performed in melodramas, and gener-ally enjoyed life together. If you lived in Wheatland, the sight of them driving around in his white con-vertible Mercedes was a common one. Leslie loved to go with Ray to the various churches around Wyoming where he performed services. Leslie was briefly survived by her hus-band Ray, who passed on Friday, January 22, 2021. She is survived by her brother, Roy T. Parker, III (Gail) of East Hampton, New York; her daughter, Wendy Dickerson of Wheatland; her son, David of Freising, Germany; and her beloved grandson Kevin Dickerson of Freising, Germany; as well as a nephew and nieces. She is also survived by Ray’s extended family. A big thank you to Dr. Dan at Platte County Memorial Hospital for making it possible for them to be together at the end.
