WHEATLAND – Funeral services for Leola Annette Carberry, 72, were 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018 at the Pioneer Baptist Church with Pastor Marlin Driskell officiating.  A luncheon was hosted at the church for family and friends at the church.
Leola Carberry passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at her home in Wheatland of natural causes.
Leola was born Feb. 27, 1945 in Wheatland, the daughter of John Chester and Bernetta Mary (Miritz) Carberry.
Leola was raised and educated in Wheatland and graduated from Wheatland High School.  After high school she joined the United States Navy.  After she was discharged from the Navy, she went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from a school in Rapid City, S.D.  
After college she went to work for the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. She worked for the university for more than 15 years before deciding to retire.  She returned to Wheatland in 2005 when she started working for Sinclair.  She also did the Bible study at the Legacy Home and did a lot of volunteer work for the Pioneer Baptist Church, where she attended.  
Some of her hobbies included rock hunting, taking writing classes where she had an interest in writing children’s books, making religious pictures, and was very active in the Pioneer Baptist Church.  
She is survived by her sister, Betty Hamilton of Wheatland and several generations of nieces and nephews.
A memorial to the Pioneer Baptist Church, 28 Fish Creek Road, Wheatland, WY, 82201 would be appreciated by the family.
