Lenora Dawn “Babe” Kirkhart

Lenora Dawn “Babe” Kirkhart, 96, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland.  
Babe Kirkhart was born on Monday, Sept. 10, 1923 in Casper, the daughter of Marion and Lena (Brooks) McCleary.  
Babe attended grade school at a country school near Casper before attending Laramie High School where she graduated.
Babe married Dale Squibb Sr. and to this union two children were born.  They later divorced in 1960.  She married Everett Kirkhart on June 15, 1963 in Saratoga.  They bought the Rainbow Valley Lodge above Centennial. When they sold the lodge, they moved to Nine Mile in 1972 and then in the late 80’s they bought a ranch outside of Wheatland near Fish Creek.  
Some of her hobbies included solitaire which she played every morning, she loved word search puzzle books, and crocheting.  Babe and Everett enjoyed ranching together, they were partners until the end.  She ran a rake when they would hay together.  
Babe is survived by her husband, Everett Kirkhart, of Wheatland; daughter, Margo (Steve) Garton of Kansas; son, Dale (Debbie) Squibb of Idaho; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
