Laurel Virginia “Ginger” Johnson

Laurel Virginia “Ginger” Johnson born June 13, 1945 in Douglas to William “Bill” and Mary “Bunte” Morton. Raised in Glendo, graduating from High School in 1963 and married Harry McGuire and from this union two children: Michele Rene and Brian Joseph. Moved to Fort Collins, Colo. in 1989 and then moved to Cheyenne in 1993 when she married her soul mate Robert “Bob” Johnson. She passed peacefully in her home in Cheyenne with her loving family on Oct. 16, 2020.
Survived by one brother Robert “Bob” Morton (Connie)-Wheatland; her daughter Michele McGuire-Cheyenne; son Brian (Kristi) McGuire-Torrington; granddaughters Melissa (Mark) Shepherd-Fruita, CO, Daly McGuire-Laramie, and Kyra McGuire-Cheyenne.  Great grandchildren Mya McGuire, Hailey and Casen Shepherd.  Stepchildren Kathy (Stuart) Nelson-Wheatland, Tami (Monte) Duff-Glendo, and Wade (Connie) Johnson-Cheyenne.  Step grandchildren Katie (Nate) Huyser-Laramie, Nicole Nelson-Wheatland, David Nelson (US Air Force Base-Beale, CA), Wiley and Andy Duff-Glendo. Step great grandchildren Haze Duff and Findley Huyser.
Preceded in death by her parents, sisters Katherine “Kay” Robinson, Patricia Watson and husband Bob Johnson.
Cremation has taken place with funeral and memorial services being postponed until June 13, 2021 to be held in Esterbrook/Glendo area. Memorials may be sent to Davis Hospice Center of Cheyenne at 6000 Sycamore Rd., Cheyenne, WY 82009.
