CASPER—Typical of this season’s fight with Mother Nature, the 2018 Wyoming State Track Meet was held under less than perfect weather conditions two weekends ago in Casper.
With 12 athletes qualified for the state events, the Vikings picked up points in five events.
Bailey Martin brought hope the best individual finish as she captured third in the Shot Put with a mark of 33-11. Encampment’s Cheyanne Jordan won the event with a throw of 35-11.75.
Trinity Ayers and Macy Mote also competed in the Shot Put but did not place. Ayers marked 28-2.25 and Mote hit 28-1.5.
Roy Mote had the next highest individual finish, also in the Shot Put. Mote marked 43-11 to take fourth place. Tyler Jensen of Little Snake River threw 48-06 to win the event.
Whitney Martin finished seventh in the 200 Meter Dash in a time of 29.10. Ten Sleep’s Sydney Holiday finished first, clocking a 26.41.
Austin Albrecht earned the Vikings’ remaining individual placings with an eighth place time of 56.07 in the 400 Meter Dash. Shane McGraw of Hanna-Elk Mountain claimed first with a time of 51.15.
The 4 x 100 Meter Relay team of Kassidy Morales, Shaylee Niles, Macy Mote and Trinity Ayers brought in the remaining points for the Viking girls as they picked up seventh place in a time of 1:06.31. Saratoga finished first with a time of 52.91.
