Irene Marie (Woolsey) Cayton, 45, passed away on Wednesday, March 17 at her home near Wheatland.
Born to loving parents George and Alice (Smith) Woolsey on Saturday, Oct. 11, 1975 in Wheatland.   Irene spent her childhood on the family’s ranch in Garrett, a home she continued to hold dear throughout her life. There she attended the one room school, and later Wheatland High School from which she graduated. After high school she attended Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington.
Irene returned to Wheatland and on Dec. 27, 1997 she and Daniel Cayton were married. To this union were welcomed two boys, Deven and Wyatt, completing their family. She delighted in being a mom and was very proud of their sons. Irene was a fabulous cook, and adored the family’s many farm animals.
Irene had such great compassion for people, as reflected in the work she chose at Platte County Memorial Nursing Home, Services for Seniors, and most recently North Platte Physical Therapy. She enjoyed helping clients in all aspects of the kind service she rendered. Even when away from work, Irene would often lend aid to others.
Irene is survived by her husband, Daniel Cayton; their sons, Deven and Wyatt Cayton; father, George Woolsey all of Wheatland; brother, William (Lori) Sturgeon of Garrett; and nephews, Matthew and James Sturgeon.
She was preceded in death by brother, Robert Woolsey on Aug. 24, 2006 and mother, Alice Woolsey on Jan. 3, 2021.
A private family service is planned, and a celebration of life will be held in summer for friends to honor the memories of both Irene and Alice.
An account is set up at Platte Valley Bank, P.O. Box 337, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201, in the name of, Daniel Cayton to help with expenses. Donations would be greatly appreciated by the family.
