Henry Harold Nagel was born in Windsor, Colo. on Feb. 17,1923. In 1928 Harold’s family and parents, Henry and Effie Nagel, moved to Platte County to farm east of Wheatland. Being the oldest son came with many chores which taught Harold how to endure long hours in the field. Once Harold noticed his friends enlisting for World War 2, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theater. He returned home in 1946.
In 1948 he married Marion Brewer. Starting a family with Harold Dane, Henry Brant, Michael Montana, and last and fairest of all, Paula Anne.
Harold worked oil rigs, pipeline, past office, insurance salesman, sale barn for Joe Madden and driving cattle truck for Russ Davis. He then started Nagel Trucking. Later Harold sold cars for Jeff Theis. Finally, Harold mowed yards for several years, mowing his last yard at 96 years old.
Preceding Harold in death are his mother, Effie, and father, Henrich, and all of his sisters, Minnie Fiet, Mary Kaiser, Ester Seible, Pauline Shepard, Edna Ryff, and his two brothers, Roy and Charlie Nagel. Also, waiting for Harold is his wife, Marion Brewer, and two sons, Harold Dane and Henry Brant. Survivors include his daughter, Paula Mock (Al), grandson Landon (Caitlin), granddaughters Hillary Lampshire (Rich), great grandchildren Mahala, Jackson, Tyson of Brighton, Colo., Lauren (Jim), and son Montana (Mike), along with many nieces and nephews.
Harold’s angel is Marge Scholton. Thank you Marge for all the TLC you shared with both Mom and Dad.
No services will be held, but a celebration of life is planned for June.
