Halloween to be 'Spooktacular' in downtown Wheatland

The annual Trick or Treat on Main Street will once again be spooktacular as downtown Wheatland will be filled with fairies and monsters and all things Halloween. The event will be taking place Oct. 30 beginning at 9:45 a.m.

WHEATLAND – Children of all shapes and sizes will be donning costumes and heading downtown Wheatland for the annual Trick or Treat festivities in downtown Wheatland.

Merchants in historic downtown Wheatland will once again participate in Trick or Treat on Main Street, Saturday, Oct. 30, beginning at 9:45 a.m. with a costume parade.


The parade will begin at Frontier Furniture and end at the library where prizes will be given. From there children can proceed downtown where shopkeepers will hand out candy.


The streets will be barricaded beginning at 9:30 a.m. and participating stores will have a giant pumpkin displayed in their windows. Anyone interested in decorating the trunk of their car are encouraged to do so and will be directed to parking areas in the middle of Gilchrist Street.


Children (and adults) are encouraged to bring Jack-o-Lanterns to the Pocket Park where judging will commence around 11 a.m. Prizes will be given to the most creative Jack-o-Lanterns.  The entire event will be held from 9:45 a.m. to Noon. For more details call 322-6232.
