LUSK – Led by Jacob Roark, who placed in each of the four events he competed in Saturday at the Dennis Zowada Invitational, the Glendo Eagles boys track team finished 10th.
Roark’s best finish came in the long jump, where he snagged fourth after clearing 18 feet, 6.25 inches. He also had a successful day on the track, including a seventh-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.79 seconds. Roark also snagged eighth in both the 100-meter dash, with a time of 12.66 seconds, and 200, with a time of 26.67 seconds.
Eli Sanders joined Roark on the track Saturday. He finished 11th in the 800 with a time of 2:34.89. In the 400, his time of 1:02.11 earned him 15th.
In the boys team standings, Glendo racked up nine team points to take ninth, edging Hay Springs’ 5.5 points. Gordon-Rushville was the winning of the boys race with 122.5 points, followed by Lusk (113.5) and Glenrock (103.5).
The Eagles return to action Friday for an invitational in Upton, before heading into the postseason for the regional invite in Torrington (May 11-12) and state invite in Casper (May 17-19).
