Glada Mae (Nordyke) Clough, formerly of Chugwater, was born July 14, 1923 in Macedonia, Iowa to Dalton and Bertha (King) Nordyke, the youngest of eight children.  Her family moved to Norfolk, Neb.where she attended elementary and high school. She graduated from Northwestern Bible School in Minneapolis, Minn., worked for General Mills and then moved back to Norfolk where she worked as a bookkeeper for Firestone, and later at Conservative Baptist Theological Seminary, Denver, Colo. It was while she was there that she was introduced to Charles Clough, a recent widower and father of five children.  They were married shortly after, and she became a wife, mother, grandmother and pastor’s wife all with one “I do”.  Glada was the perfect pastor’s wife…she loved to entertain and they often hosted visiting pastors and missionaries, as well as hosting family reunions for many years. She taught Sunday school classes and Bible studies. In 2008 Chuck and Glada moved to Colton, Ore. to be closer to family. She was an active member of the Chugwater Historical Group and the Judson Missionary Circle while living in Wyoming; and a member of Grace Church in Molalla, Ore.
Glada is pre-deceased by her parents, her sister, Grace Eskew, and brothers Lewis, Dalton, Don, Vernon, Marion, and Emery.  She is pre-deceased by her husband Charles, step-daughters Charlene Larson Carlson and Rebecca Gabriel, and grandson David Eric Larson.
She is survived by her step-children d’Estree (Pat) Dockter (Charles) of Arizona, MaryJo Stanbro (Duane) of Oregon and David Clough of Wyoming, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial graveside service will be held July 6 at 11 a.m. at the Iowa Flats Cemetery in Chugwater with Stan Rieb officiating.  A reception in Glada’s honor will follow at the Chugwater Community Center.
