Funeral services for Georgia Magdalene Graves, 98, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 2, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Douglas, Wyoming with Pastor Donnie Holt officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Georgia Graves died Monday, March 12, 2018 at Douglas Care Center in Douglas.
Georgia Magdalene (DeRose) Graves, youngest of six children was born in Wattis, Utah to Italian immigrants Emillo Arturo and Angela Columbia (Fasciano) DeRose on February 12, 1920.
She was predeceased by all her siblings; parents; her son, Captain William B. Graves, USA, 1967; husband, Marcus R. Graves, 1988; daughter, Virginia Ann Graves, 2006; and granddaughter, Shawn Marie Warren, 2014.  
Georgia is survived by daughters, Georgia (Jim) Moore, Douglas, Wyoming and Linda (Joe) Fabian, Wheatland, Wyoming.  Also, by five grandchildren, Elena (Josh) Berman, Denver, Colorado; William J. Graves, Cornelius, Oregon; William Mark (Michelle) Graves, Denver, Colorado; Rhonda (Mike) McLean, Riverton, Wyoming; and Travis Boyd (Blythe Duell) Rollins, Durant, Oklahoma; and seven step-grandchildren.  Also, by EIGHT GREAT grandchildren; EIGHTEEN GREAT-GREAT grandchildren; ONE GREAT-GREAT-GREAT grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 Georgia is a woman of tenacity and strength.  A two-time survivor of cancer, and a woman ahead of her time when it came to work outside the home.  She taught her children to serve their community, and she is remembered for her beautiful smile, her wonderful sense of humor, and lots of spark.  Georgia was especially proud of being a Retired Senior Volunteer Policeman for the Town of Douglas.   In 2013 she was awarded the Community Hero Award from the Wyoming Association of Municipalities for her service to the police department.  
The family requests that memorials in her honor be made to the Wyoming Historical Foundation in care of Charlene Busk, 1505 Estes Lane, Gillette, Wyoming 82716, Converse County Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 393, Douglas, Wyoming 82633 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
