WHEATLAND – An unidentified driver from Arkansas inadvertently backed up with his car door open and backed into a gas pump, knocking it over at the Sinclair Service Station at 1857 Mariposa Parkway in Wheatland. Sinclair employees, who didn’t see the incident all heard the noise of the car hitting the pump and crashing to the ground.
Owner Jin Min said that because the service station is under the Sinclair name, the company would need to be called. The pump was immediately turned off and there was minimal gas spillage. A determination will be made by Sinclair officials as to whether a hazmat team would need to be called before repairs to the pump could be made.
The accident happened at approximately 2 p.m. and nobody was injured in the mishap. Police were on scene questioning the man. An illegal substance was found by police, Suspect was arrested but no other information was available at the time of this posting.
