A funeral service for Frankie Leon “Frank” Williamson, 74, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at the First Christian Church in Wheatland with Pastor Casey Schroeder officiating. Interment will be held at the Wheatland Cemetery. Frank Williamson passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland with his family surrounding him.
Frank was born on Wednesday, March 15, 1944, in Wheatland, the son of Leo L. and Leona Christina (Middleton) Williamson.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1961 and served until 1963. He returned home to Wheatland where he married Sheila Louise Cronce in 1966, and divorced years later.
Through the years, he was employed as a uranium mine worker, sales person, construction worker, water well driller and then joined Safeway in Wheatland until he retired after 32 years.
Frank loved the outdoors and all that it entailed. Hunting, fishing and being with his family at the cabin were very important to him.
He is survived by his children Terisa L. (Dan) Harmon, David L. Williamson, Niki (Clint) Lembke, all of Casper, and Stony Davis, of Laramie; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Leona Christina Williamson; sister Grace (Edmiston) Isabell; and brother Jimmy Williamson.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to Disabled Veterans of America or BoysTown USA.
The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland is in charge of the arrangements.
