WHEATLAND – Second-grade teachers Tori Hendren, Nicole Jeffires, Shari DeWitt and Heather Tatro, teachers at Libbery Elementary, gave the students of Wheatland something to be competitive over for their 100th day of school.
On Monday, Jan. 30, trying to get the students a little more excited with the fact school will be ending soon, the teachers decided to put together “100 foods for 100 days.”
Each grade, kindergarten through fifth grade, were challenged to bring in 100 nonperishable food items for the local Food Drive.
“This is a great way to get the young students active in the community,” Hendren said.
The local food drive received nearly 560 items altogether. Each grade level was to bring a specific type of food.
