Hyannie John S. Fausto, a 2022 graduate of Wheatland High School left Wheatland as an all-state track athlete and directly into Naval boot camp.
“Right now, I’m starting off as an E-1 like other sailors,” Fausto said. “Boot camp was fun and it was a great experience. It’s those 10 weeks I will never forget and bootcamp is more mentally preparing than physical. You just need to focus on yourself and do what you need to do and now since I’m officially a sailor I’m heading to Pensacola, Florida, for my A school and C School and I’m very excited where the wind takes me.”
