A funeral liturgy for Eugenia Marie Banish, 64, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at the Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wheatland, with Father Tom Kadera as the Celebrant. The Vigil for the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Eugenia Banish passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, surrounded by her family after battling cancer.
Genia was born Tuesday, April 21, 1953 in Rapid City, South Dakota the daughter of Edgar and Lela L. (Overlin) Gorsuch.
She attended National American University School of Business where she studied bookkeeping. She later moved to North Dakota, where she met Clarence Banish, her husband of 39 years. Together they had two children, Deb and Kevin.
Gena loved spending time with friends and family, cooking, and sewing. She touched the lives of everyone she met and will be remembered for all her kindnesses.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Banish of Wheatland; children, Deb Banish of Wheatland and Kevin Banish of Cheyenne; and siblings, Anita Welken of Wheatland, Carl Gorsuch, and Don Gorsuch.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Darrel Gorsuch and Dennis Gorsuch.
A memorial to the Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1009 Ninth Street, Wheatland, Wyoming 82201 would be appreciated by the family.
