Ethel “Mae” Lambert, 96 of Wheatland passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at her home surrounded by her family. Mae was born in Blackwell, Okla. on July 26, 1924 to Myron George “Blackie” and Evelina Marie (Lambert) Maston. Mae was the eldest of eight children born to this union.
Mae married Charles Varney “Chuck” Lambert on July 13, 1963, and they raised their children in Idaho and Wyoming.
Mae was proceeded in death by her parents, Myron George and Evelina Marie Maston; brothers, Teddy Lee, Billy Joe “Bud”, and Marion Frederick “Freddie” Maston; sisters, Ardeania Marie “Deanie” Gilbert, Barbara Jean Brown, and Leitha Joyce Young; and former husband, Thomas Nelson Lambert, Sr.; husband, Charles Varney “Chuck” Lambert; son, Thomas Nelson “Tink” Lambert’ son-in-laws, William Shepard, Harvey Thomas Day, and Chester “Chet” Bruner.
She is survived by her four children, Edna LaDeane “LaDeane Fawn” Shepard of Harlowton, Mont., Carol Jean “Cookie” Day of Wheatland, Elona Marie “Sug” Bruner of North Platte, Neb., and Hazel Diane wife of Thomas N. Lambert of Wheatland; one sister, Wanda Pauline Pitman of Las Vegas, Nev.; 14 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; 4 great-great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
