Election results for Platte County

WHEATLAND – The votes have been counted and another successful election has made it into the Platte County Ledgers. Tuesday’s totals are unofficial, the official results will not be released until Friday, Nov. 9.
Brandon Graves will lead Wheatland for the next four years as our illustrious Mayor. In the Wheatland Councilmen race, Jamie Schindler received the highest percentage of the vote with 34 percent and Bill Britz was re-elected to the four-member Town Council with seated councilmen, Alan Madsen and Thane Ashenhurst.
Clyde Harris will remain in his post as the Platte County Sheriff, receiving almost 80 percent of the vote.
Danette Eppel was elected to the County Assessor seat over Rex Fritzler by a large majority.
Platte County School District #1 was an extremely close race with the two seats going to Travis Lockman and Dixie Mount.
The four-year terms for Senior Service Distric went to Ken Pasley and Rose Martinez with just 30 votes over Lana Nelson. The two-year terms were won by Merlin Hitt and Helen Rutz.
The Hospital District Board was another tight race. The candidates joining the board are Rob Hellbaum, Chuck Frederick and Debbie Shanahan.
Malcom Ervin was elected to the County Clerk office with almost a three quarter vote majority.
Public servants running unopposed that will continue in their posts are County Treasurer Kristi Rietz, County Coroner Philip Martin, County Attorney Doug Weaver, and County Clerk of District Court Mona McAuley.

Steve Shockley was re-elected to the Platte County Commission and is joined by newcomer Ian Jolovich.
The new Mayor for Guernsey will by Nicholas Paustian by a slight margin.
Guernsey Council winners are Kellie Augustyn and Stephen Kelley.
Platte County School District #2 spots went to Shawna Reichert and Lucas Zapf.
David Warner and Dennnis Miller will serve on the Guernsey Rural Fire Board.
Joseph Schirmer was re-elected to the Chugwater Town Council and will be joined by Kelly Cronk. Rob Hellbaum, Henry Borchardt and Dennis Baker were all elected to the Chugwater Cemetery Board.
Georgann Martinez was elected to a 4-year term as the Y-O Ranch Service and Improvement District Supervisor.
Resource Conservation District Rural Supervisor is Levi Clark and Conservation At-Large position went to Brook Brockman.
Rural Fire District 2F, Palmer Canyon is Duncan Irvine and Rural Fire District 2F At Large Director is Doug Curtis.
All of the Platte County Tax continuations passed for the Resource Distict, Hospital Distric and  the Senior Citizens.
Judges Arp and Peasley are both retained for the Eighth Judicial District.
Platte County results for Governor were overhelmingly in favor of Republican Mark Gordon.
Senator John Barraso and Representative Liz Cheney were re-elected to their offices by a landslide.
Edward Buchanan was appointed by Governor Matt Mean to be Secretary of State last February when the elected Secretary, Ed Murray, stepped down after allegations of sexual misconduct. Buchanan won his race to retain the office by a significant margin.
Wyoming State Auditor Cynthia Cloud did not run for re-election and the office went to Kristi Kristi Racines as she won over her opponent, Jeff Dockter
Republican Curt Meier will take over as the State Treasurer with Mark Gordon’s move to the Governor’s office.
Jillian Balow was running un-opposed and so was re-elected as the State Superintendent of Public Instruction
Dan Kirkbride of Chugwater will remain as the State House Representative for District 4.
