WHEATLAND – The votes have been counted and another successful election has made it into the Platte County Ledgers. Tuesday’s totals are unofficial, the official results will not be released until Friday, Nov. 9.
Brandon Graves will lead Wheatland for the next four years as our illustrious Mayor. In the Wheatland Councilmen race, Jamie Schindler received the highest percentage of the vote with 34 percent and Bill Britz was re-elected to the four-member Town Council with seated councilmen, Alan Madsen and Thane Ashenhurst.
Clyde Harris will remain in his post as the Platte County Sheriff, receiving almost 80 percent of the vote.
Danette Eppel was elected to the County Assessor seat over Rex Fritzler by a large majority.
Platte County School District #1 was an extremely close race with the two seats going to Travis Lockman and Dixie Mount.
The four-year terms for Senior Service Distric went to Ken Pasley and Rose Martinez with just 30 votes over Lana Nelson. The two-year terms were won by Merlin Hitt and Helen Rutz.
The Hospital District Board was another tight race. The candidates joining the board are Rob Hellbaum, Chuck Frederick and Debbie Shanahan.
Malcom Ervin was elected to the County Clerk office with almost a three quarter vote majority.
Public servants running unopposed that will continue in their posts are County Treasurer Kristi Rietz, County Coroner Philip Martin, County Attorney Doug Weaver, and County Clerk of District Court Mona McAuley.
