Couple charged with sheltering alleged stalker

WHEATLAND — An alleged stalker pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in 8th Judicial District Court, and the next day the state requested arraignment for the people who allegedly sheltered him in their trailer, according to court documents.
Bobby Leon Anderson pleaded not guilty to felony charges of stalking and influencing, intimidating or impeding an officer during his arraignment April 5 in District Court.
The state requested arraignment April 6 for John Richard Geringer II and CarrieAnn Marie Bodendorfer, both of the same address at a Wheatland trailer court. Both are charged with accessory after the fact: felony stalking and endangering a child: knowingly allowing a child to stay at a location where methamphetamine or its hazardous waste byproducts are stored.
According to an affidavit from a Wheatland Police Department officer, a child’s father reported March 5 to police that people were abusing methamphetamine at the trailer where his child lives.

Police interviewed the child March 6, and the child reportedly told them Geringer and Bodendorfer “snorted white stuff” at the home. Police then searched the trailer that same day, allegedly finding drug paraphernalia with meth residue.
Police also found Anderson in the trailer March 6, according to the officer’s affidavit.
The affidavit reports police had searched for Anderson in the same trailer previously — Jan. 20 — after receiving multiple tips he was there, but they did not find him at that time. Bodendorfer had allegedly stood by silently during the Jan. 20 search.
Police were searching for Anderson in January because he had allegedly been stalking his wife, a Wheatland woman, for several months. Anderson’s behavior reportedly included calling the victim 111 times in one day and threatening her via text messages.
The affidavit reports both Bodendorfer and Geringer submitted to urinalyses. Geringer allegedly tested positive for meth and THC, while Bodendorfer’s results were allegedly positive for THC and inconclusive for meth.
If convicted, Bodendorfer and Geringer could each be imprisoned up to three years and/or fined up to $3,000 for Count 1, accessory after the fact: felony stalking, and up to five years and/or $5,000 for Count 2, endangering a child.
