Ft. Laramie, Wyoming --- Colter James Smith, 27, died November 13, 2017.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Monday, November 20, at the Wheatland Bible Church with Pastor Cody Dyer officiating. Private family burial will take place in the Glendo Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like a contribution to be made to the Wyoming Game and Fish Access (YES) in Colter’s name.
Colter was born September 27, 1990, in Douglas, Wyoming. He graduated from Wheatland High School in 2009 and went on to attend Northern Wyoming College in Sheridan and then Casper College in Casper. In 2011, Colter joined an apprentice program in bridge construction. He started his career as a journeyman plumber in Gillette, Wyoming in 2014 and moved to Ft. Laramie in 2016.
Colter was an easy going, happy guy who enjoyed making things. There was nothing he couldn’t build. He also enjoyed playing in the rec softball league in Gillette. Colter was an avid hunter who enjoyed hunting and shed hunting with his cousin Cody Bone. He also played the guitar and banjo and liked reading and Broadway shows. When he was golfing he was sure to be wearing his Batman socks. Colter loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his parents, Jeri (mother) and Eddie Hunter and Derek “Bud” (father) and Cynthia Smith; sister Amber Smith; brother Cody Smith; stepbrothers Tyler Hunter and Phillip Gilliland; stepsisters, Melissa Knapp, Jessica Gilliland, Karen Bair and Nicole Gilliland; nieces and nephews, Charlee Smith, Alice Bair, Lilly Bair, Evelyn Bair, Nicholas Bair, Abigail Knapp, Kilian Knapp, Asher Hunter and Kaylee Hunter; and his beloved dog Red.
