A funeral service for Christina Ernistina Jaren, 94, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Wheatland Bible Church, in Wheatland with Tony Johnson officiating. Inurnment will be held at Wheatland Cemetery.
Christina Jaren passed away on Thursday, Jan. 21 at Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland.
Christina Jaren was born on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1926 in Dresden, Germany where their family lived until right before the Russians bombed the town. They fled to Munich where she met Edward Jerome Jaren and married him in 1946. Together they came to the United States while Edward finished his Army career. They moved to Cleveland, Ohio and Christina attended nursing school. She worked as a nurse in the emergency room and then labor and delivery until she retired in 1989.
Her hobbies included flower gardening and crafts, especially crochet and knitting. She enjoyed making scarves for her family. She was a very loving grandmother to her grandchildren.
Christina is survived by her son, Randy (Millette) Jaren of Wheatland; grandchildren, Randal (Kendra) Jaren of Torrington, Brian Jaren of Wheatland, and Eli Jaren of Wheatland; and great grandson, Colten Jaren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Jerome William “Jerry” Jaren on July 7, 2019.
