Chris Laffitte, 81, passed away Wednesday, October 23 at his home in Wheatland after a lengthy illness.
Chris was born on Monday, Jan. 17, 1938 in Mansfield, La. the son of Fergia Christopher and Gladys (Brashier) Laffitte.
Chris was reared and educated in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1956.  He went on to Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. where he earned his Bachelors of Arts degree in Industrial Arts in 1960.  He met Carolyn LaCour while attending college and they were married in 1960 in Shreveport, Louisiana.  
He worked for Western Electric and when they merged into ATT Western Electric, they moved their family to the Broomfield, Colorado area.  Chris took early retirement in 1975. He and Carolyn bought a farm near Wheatland and that is where he began farming.
Chris is survived by his wife Carolyn Laffitte of Wheatland; sons, Judd (Shawna) Laffitte of Sheridan, Casey Laffitte and Anthony (Gleny) Laffitte both of Wheatland; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Yvette Schukman of Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lynn.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
