WHEATLAND – After attempting twice to mark the cemetery rows with in-ground pavers and then painting numbers on the pavement, the cemetery ladies are, once and for all, striving to fix the problem of marking the rows with metal.
The photo is an example of the 6” X 10.75” steel row markers that will be attached to the asphalt along the edges of the Avenue of Flags, Faith and Glory streets at the cemetery. Names of those who donated will be on the markers and a clear coating will be overlaid to protect the names.
At a cost of $9/marker, the fund is short $918 to finish paying for the two outside streets and along the recently-opened south block. The Avenue of Flags is completely funded.
If you would contribute to this project, please drop your donation by Platte Valley Bank. Make sure you give the teller your name so it can be put on each marker you purchased.
