Bulldog Middle School wrestlers host meet

WHEATLAND – The Wheatland Middle School wrestling team is quickly completing their season.  The team has 21 students out this year and is coached by Jake Montoya, Colt Goff and Blaine Epple.  
They competed this past week at the Wheatland Triangular, hosting Torrington and Douglas middle schools on Thursday. They travelled to Rawlins on Saturday to face teams from across the western half of the state.
The team is very young this year and has been led by a trio of eight graders: Caleb Hyche, Tagg Mickelsen and Brock Peasley. The underclassmen include Austin Wood, George Kontour, Anthony Johnston, Lucas Resh, Cooper Meyer, Reilly Hedstrom, Jenna Karr, Dayton Stills, Clayton Dahlstedt, Tyrell Weber, Jacob Hyche, Jay Downes, Waylon Milnes, Ariel Kustelos, Kade Coates, Tripp Vigil, Lane Nix and Jacob McDaniel.
At the 14 team Rawlins Invitational, “A” bracket place winners included Cooper Meyer, third at 70 pounds, Tripp Vigil, second at 85 pounds, Kade Coates, second at 125 pounds, Brock Peasley, fourth at 145 pounds and Waylon Milnes who was champion at 80 pounds. Milnes also was the first-place finisher at the Wheatland and Douglas Invitationals.  
The wrestling team will finish its season Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Torrington Middle School Invitational.
