Briant A. Hopfauf, passed away at his home on Sunday, Jan. 10 in Wheatland with the love of his life, Deborah Wheeler.
Briant was born to Florian Hopfauf and Virginia Otto on Sunday, July 13, 1958 in Bismarck, N.D. He grew up in Mandan, N.D.  where he met his lifelong friend, Bud Scheurer.  Briant moved with his mother to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where he met and fell in love with Deborah. Having to leave her in Idaho, he moved to Wibaux, Mont. to live with his dad. From there Briant started working in the oil fields, which eventually brought him to Wheatland. He later married Cindy Sechler. Briant and Cindy had a son, Joshua Hopfauf who joined two step children, Stacia and Billy Sechler. Briant had six grandchildren from his previous marriage to Cindy. He worked in several oil fields before injuring his back.   Briant went to work for his friend, Kurt Price in the manufactured home business.  He was a loyal employee at Laramie Peak Motors for the last 14 years.
Briant left behind Deborah; her children, Stevy, Crystal, Mindy, Kimberly, and Heather; grandchildren, Braden, Bellamy, Tyler, and Madison; father and step mother, Florian and Georgia Hopfauf; siblings, Deborah (Gary) Petermann, Val (James) Ronquillo, Lois Keller, Rick (Debbie) Hopfauf, Scott Otto, Keith (Kris) Otto, Kristi (Jason) Schiermeister, and Annie Otto; step brother, Brian Tibbs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Briant was proceeded in death by his mother, Virginia Otto; grandparents; and brother in-law, Dan Keller.
A celebration of Briants life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Hill Top Bar & Grill in Wheatland.
