Bill was born March 10, 1941 in Torrington to Howard and Ila (Keane) Britton. He graduated from Glendo High School in 1959. He married Connie Sommers in 1963 and they welcomed three girls into the world. Bill’s quick wit and sense of humor delighted (and occasionally embarrassed) his children and gave his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews a lifetime of stories. Bill was a lifelong collector of treasure and loved to share his knowledge about his extensive rock collection. Spending time with his family hunting arrowheads was one of his biggest joys. He was a long-time member of the Church of Our Savior Episcopal Church in Hartville and the Hartville Volunteer Fire Department.
Bill is survived by his daughters Holly (Richard) Lara, Wendy (Jim) Dreiling, and Heidi (Tom Clark) Britton and his grandchildren Kolista (Adam) Miller, Cionne (Brandon) Lauzun, and RJ (Samantha) Lara, and foster great grandson, Holden Grady Lauzun. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Grady Haeffelin, and his parents, Howard and Ila Britton. He will be missed greatly by his family and many friends.
