Banner Health donates medical supplies to Platte County Schools

WHEATLAND – Much needed medical supplies were donated to Platte County Schools in Wheatland as there were depleted supplies according to district nurse Tammy Cox.

“A couple of months ago Banner Health approached us with Natalie Bohlander,” Cory Dziowgo, PCSD No. 1 superintendent said. “It was dealing with nursing supplies that we were short on. We need various bandages, equipment, wheelchairs and Banner wanted to partner with us to provide those things.”

Dziowgo said that the school system made a list of what was needed and Bohlander went to work finding the things that were needed.

“We weren’t concerned about the cost,” Bohlander said. “We simply ordered what was needed. Tammy made a list of what every school needed and then we were able to provide what each school had requested.”

When Cox found that supplies were running very low, she approached Dziowgo.

“I approached Mr. Dziowgo and asked what the procedure was for getting stuff,” Cox said. “And he helped us through it.”

Dziowgo attributed the previous existing relationship with Banner Health, and he said that for many years they have stepped up and helped to supply whatever we needed. He also said that he knew that they had better connections with medical supply chain issues.

“It’s a great partnership,” Dziowgo said. “They help us out a lot.”
