Artist(s) of the Month, with a new twist

Posted

WHEATLAND – For years, the Dance Wyoming window displays have featured the works of Platte County Art Guild (PCAG) members.

This summer, the PCAG invited other artists to feature their artwork. As a result, the June and July exhibits features the artwork by summer residents and locals associated with the Flying X Ranch (FXR).
The FXR, located on highway 34 and Halleck Canyon Road, provides a brilliant, diverse and talented selection of art for the display.  Included in this display are watercolor, oil, pen and ink, photography, woodwork, metalwork, quilting, weaving and the restoration of an 80-year-old violin!
The contributors to this display are:  Judy Bradley, Jim Bradney, Chloe Butler, Lori Cummings, Bev Flaven, Ross Flaven, Patrick Gallagher, Gary Hughes, John Parker, John Reynolds and Gail Thompson.
The PCAG encourages art, in any form, and appreciates the contributions for this unique summer display.  Walk by the Dance Wyoming studio on Gilcrest and enjoy the lovely display of art in many forms.
The beautifully restored violin is available as a donation to a deserving student.  Contact Ross at flaven@comcast.com for information.
