WHEATLAND – Chamber Director Kit Armour said goodbye officially at her retirement celebration held at the Platte County Chamber office last week. She announced her retirement a few months ago, but stayed on to help make the transition for the new director, Shawna Reichert, easier and with less disruption for the Chamber members.
She may be retiring from the Chamber, but she will not be absent from the community as she has been hired by the Lodging Tax Board to work on their behalf and has recently joined Wheatland Kiwanis.
“The best thing for a chamber is to bring in someone with new ideas and enthusiasm. I feel comfortable handing the reins over to Shawna,” explained Armour as her reason for moving on. “I’ve done a lot here and wanted to see it continue to move forward. Change is good.”
