Lady Bulldogs make a comeback against Douglas

GLENROCK – The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Glenrock on Friday to face off against the Lady Herders.

Wheatland won the game 52-39, adding another conference win to their record.

Senior Bailey Tillman was the high scorer, with 15 points. Shelby Connoly followed with 10 points, and led the team with 4 assists, 4 steals, and 4 blocks. Avery Hanks had 8 points, 8 blocks and 4 steals.

Kayla Buchanan had 10 points, and Danielle Brow had 8 steals for the evening.

“It was great effort on our senior night,” Coach Sally Nichols said.

On Saturday, Wheatland boys and girls basketball traveled to Douglas to take on the Bearcats.

The Lady Bulldogs and Lady Bearcats played a hard-fought game, with Wheatland outscoring Douglas 22-7 in the second half to make a good shot at the win. It was not enough to take a final lead, however, and Douglas won the game 66-54.

Connoly led the Lady Bulldogs with an impressive 27 points, as well as 7 assists, 5 steals, and 7 rebounds.

Kayla Buchanan followed in scoring with 11 points. Tillman had 9 points, and 4 rebounds. Hanks had 8 blocks and 6 rebounds, and Abbigail Suko had 5 steals and 5 rebounds.

Wheatland travels to Torrington on Friday, and Buffalo on Saturday.
