WHEATLAND - The Wheatland Bulldog Boys’ basketball team would struggle without 3-year starter Josh Madsen on Friday as they faced the Glenrock Herders. Wheatland was paced by their senior guard Brody West, who again had the hot hand, hitting 7 three pointers en route to 32 points.
Wheatland struggled to trap Glenrock guard Tanner Bopp, who would pace the Herders to a 65-63 win. Three Bulldog players would foul out, and Glenrock would win the game at the foul line.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs met with the #2 ranked Douglas Bearcats, who brought nine seniors to their final home game. The Bulldogs were able to keep pace with the Douglas rivals in a much closer game than in their first meeting this season. Ultimately, the Bulldogs would fall 62-43, led by Trigg Peasley’s 14 points.
West would add 11, Madsen 8, Clayton Iacovetto 6 and Chase Cohran 3 in the loss. The Bulldogs head to Torrington Friday and Buffalo on Saturday as they near the end of their regular season.
